On March 30, 2024, Yulia Romantsova (Belarus – Spain) will present her original project “Evening of Spanish Flamenco and Neoclassicism”. Listeners will be able to get acquainted with the original work of the pianist and composer, which presents such seemingly distant movements as new age and flamenco fusion. This evening Yulia Romantsova will present to the public two solo piano albums: “For You” and “Red and Black”.
The album “Para ti” (“For you”) contains many beautiful romantic themes, full of lyricism. The second album “Rojo y negro” (translated from Spanish as “Red and Black”, as the colors symbolizing flamenco) is based on an experimental combination of the musical language of flamenco with the elegant sound of an acoustic piano.
The author of the project, Yulia Romantsova, emphasizes that in her work she strives to intertwine two cultural codes and achieve a symbiosis of “the energy, rhythm and temperament of the south with the enchanting beauty and depth of the north.”
The concert program features flamenco dancer Tatiana Bordushko and flamenco cajon/multi percussion performer, concertmaster of the percussion group of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra Alexander Novikov.
