“MY STARS, MY HEROES”
Olga Brilon’s Creative Evening
Olga Brilon’s name is well known in the professional music community of Belarus. She is a bright and talented musicologist, host of many philharmonic concerts, author and host of a large number of radio and television programs, member of the board of the Belarusian Union of Composers. Her book “Belarusian Variety. Nostalgic Divertissement. History of the Variety Stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic. 1930–1980s”, which became an encyclopedia of the Belarusian Soviet variety stage, received a wide response in the republic. In the 2023/2024 season, the Belarus 3 TV channel premiered the 10-episode film “Variety Legends”, based on this book, where Olga acted as the scriptwriter and presenter. Since 2008, she has been working at the National Academic Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus named after I.Zhinovich of the Belarusian State Philharmonic – she hosts the orchestra’s concerts, is the author and director of many concert programs of this famous group. In 2023, for her great contribution to the culture of Belarus, Olga Brilon was awarded a high state award – the Francysk Skaryna Medal.
On December 7, 2024, at 18.00, her creative evening “My Stars, My Heroes” will take place in the Small Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic named after G. Shirma. Olga Brilon invited wonderful artists with whom she has long-standing friendship to her concert. This is the People’s Artist of Belarus, the prima donna of the Belarusian operetta Natalia Gaida, the Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, one of the founders of the VIA “Pesnyary” Vladislav Misevich, soloists of the Belarusian State Philharmonic and the I.Zhinovich Orchestra Igor Zadorozhny, Anna Yankovskaya, Anastasia Rachitskaya, Elena Luzan, the VIA “Charovnitsy” and many other famous artists and musicians. Fragments from the television series “Variety Legends” will be shown.
One of the surprises of the evening will be the presentation of Olga Brilon’s new book “Belarusian Amazons”, dedicated to the work of the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Charovnitsy”. The audience will meet both modern members of this legendary female VIA and its veterans. The evening is expected to have many interesting and pleasant discoveries for the public.
