NEW YEAR’S MUSICAL-BALLET FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS
“THE NUTCRACKER”
There is a country that everyone would like to visit. Country, in which determination and courage are required only when it is necessary to choose between marzipan and chocolate. Country that undoubtedly exists somewhere very close to us: just close your eyes, and ... a touching Nutcracker, a reliable guide to the world of dreams, will take us directly to the capital – Confetenburg.
The tale of the Nutcracker has long become the most popular winter story, because every child (even when he has been an adult for a long time) must necessarily get into this wonderful atmosphere of tastes, colors and sounds on Christmas days.
Our story is in an unusual wrapper. Not a dramatic performance or a classical ballet, but a real extravaganza – a choreographic musical! The music by P.Tchaikovsky’s is classical, beloved by everyone music – but in new, modern, arrangements. Familiar dances are in a new, unexpected choreography. Traditional characters are in a new company!
The musical-ballet is performed by the artists of the State Academic Dance Ensemble of Belarus. In addition to Tchaikovsky’s music in a modern arrangement, the songs created for the fairy tale and the spoken scenes voiced by the artists of Belarusian theatres, the ensemble “Camerata” and “Pesnyary” are performed.
Children of all ages will meet the heroes of E.Th.Hoffman’s fairy tale in the author's version by Valentin Dudkevich. We invite the audience to go on a fairytale journey to the city of joy.
Stage director, author of the script and libretto – People’s Artist of Belarus Valentin Dudkevich
Author of arrangements – Artyom Frolov
