A renowned violinist Julian Rachlin will perform on a Stradivari violin in Minsk on October, 8 during the final concert of the XII International Festival of Yury Bashmet in the frames a series of concerts “Evening of Vienna Classics. Legends of a Stradivari Violin”.
Vengerov, Repin, Kremer, Krylov…all these stars of the world violin art have already had an opportunity to show their skills on the stage during the concerts in the frames of the International Festival of Yury Bashmet. This year the Belarusian listeners will meet Julian Rachlin.
Julian Rachlin is an artist of the same rank as such stars as Martha Argerich, Pinchas Zukerman, Janine Jansen, Mischa Maisky. The artist is 43 years old and is a very respected person in his sphere. He chose Mozart in order to get acquainted with the Belarusian public. This music is neither too noisy, nor too assumed.
Julian Rachlin will perform Violin Concerto № 3 in G major, K. 216 and together with a viola player Sarah McElravy from Canada will play Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E-flat major, K. 364.
On October, 8 the East-West Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Rostislav Krimer will be on the stage during the whole concert. This is the collective, which exists only for two years, but is already admired by the Minsk public for its unique quality of performance and amazing sound.
The collective consists of young talented musicians from Eastern and Western Europe. The majority of them are the laureates of the most prestigious musical competitions (competitions n.a. Tchaikovsky, Wieniawski, Paganini), concertmasters and soloists from the best orchestras.
Besides, a collaborative project of two colleagues and friends Rostislav Krimer and Julian Rachlin is very unusual because both musicians will conduct during one concert. Besides the solo performance Julian Rachlin will conduct the Symphony № 29 in A major, K.201 by Mozart.
This was the first composition which he conducted 10 years ago. One of the musicians of the orchestra during that concert was his own father. During the past years Rachlin has worked with the orchestras of the world and his mother for him is his best teacher of conducting.
Rostislav Krimer will conduct the Symphony № 92 in G major, Hob. I/92 (the Oxford Symphony) and the rest of the compositions which are going to be played during the concert.
The concert on October, 8 is going to be unique for all the amateurs of playing ancient musical instruments, because they will have an opportunity to see and hear several violins and cellos by Stradivari and Guarneri and first of all an "Ex-Liebig" of Julian Rachlin.
