“TUSCANY: THROUGH TIME AND DISTANCE…”

The concert dedicated to the works of composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco

On 11 December at the Small Hall named after G.Shirma of the State Philharmonic Society will be held the concert dedicated to the work of Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. The chamber music of the composer (pieces for duet guitars) and also the concert for guitar with orchestra will be provided with the audience.

One of the main leitmotifs of M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s creativity was the theme of expulsion. The composer, who was forced to leave Italy, carefully carried trepidation and nostalgia, longing and sadness about his abandoned homeland through the years. He expressed all his love for the distant but beloved Tuscany in numerous pages of warm and sincere music, which has rightfully become a classic of the guitar repertoire.

At the concert also will sound orchestral works by famous Italian composers of the 20th century: Giacomo Puccini and Pietro Mascagni.
