The concert project dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninov and prepared by the Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Belarus, Professor of the Belarusian State Academy of Music V.Nekhaenko, will present the piano work of the great composer. Two concerts will feature works of all genres with the participation of the piano: solo, vocal, chamber-instrumental.
In a concert on April 20 as part of the Minsk Spring festival, Vladimir Nikolayevich’s students will embody an interesting repertoire concept: the evening will open with the composer’s first piano opus, Concerto No.1 in F sharp minor, and end with his last piece for piano, Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op.43. Between the two poles, symbolizing the boundaries of the composer's piano work, Rachmaninov’s piano miniatures will be performed: plays, preludes, etudes-tableaux, musical moments, transcriptions.
