ADAM BAŁDYCH SEXTET is one of the top jazz violinist of our age will perform with his band on the stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society on 7 February. The organizers of the concert are the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society and the Polish Institute in Minsk.
Adam Bałdych is famous for his uncompromising creative explorations. He breaks all stereotypes about violin and his expression, unusual creativity and virtuosity make clear that he is one of the top outstanding violinists of the world jazz stage.
Adam Bałdych’s new project combines interest in jazz, modern music and indie rock. The music filled with different shades and "spices" defy classification, but even more demonstrate clearly recognizable sounding of Bałdych not only as a musician, but also as a composer.
He is a graduate of Kattowitz conservatory (Poland) and prestigious Berklee College of Music (USA). At the age of 16, he was recognized as a "child prodigy" and soon began touring with Polish and foreign outstanding musicians in Poland, Germany, Serbia, Indonesia, Hungary, Spain, France, England and the USA. Musician constantly works together with prestigious German label ACT Music for which he recorded three albums "Imaginary Room" (2012), "The New Tradition" (2014) and Adam Bałdych & Helge Lien Trio "Bridges" (2015, Jazz album of the year in Poland), which received high grades of critics in Poland and abroad.
The laureate of "ECHO Jazz-2013" – is the most important award for musicians from all the world recognized by Germany; Grand prix "Jazz Melomani" – Musician of the year (2012); was nominated for award FRYDERYK 2013, 2015 and 2016 under the notion of Musician of the year (jazz music); “The best jazz violinist” of Poland according to the poll of the readers of the magazine “Jazz Forum” constantly from 2012 to 2016.
Adam collaborated and performed on the stage with famous jazzmen from Poland and the world, among them Leszek Możdżer, Grażyna Auguścik, Jarek Smetana, Lars Danielsson, Didier Lockwood, Pierre Blanchard, Royal String Quartet, Paulina García, NDR Big Band, Nils Landgren, Rene van Helsdingen, Jerry Goodman and others.
In June 2016 Adam Bałdych was awarded “Golden Cross of Merit” and Medal for Merit to Polish Culture by President of Republic of Poland and Minister of Culture.
Adam Bałdych will perform in Minsk with outstanding representatives of the Polish jazz scene: Krzysztof Dys / piano /, Michał Barański / double-bass /, Matvey Kotiński / saxophone, clarinet /, Shimon Mika / guitar /, David Fortuna / drums /.
