“Bachiana” is a concert program dedicated to the 340th anniversary of the birth of one of the most brilliant composers in world musical culture – Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750). The first department of the concert will feature the best works by the German composer for soloists and orchestra. The second department will feature works dedicated to Bach by 20th century composers – H.Villa-Lobos, A.Honegger, A. Pärt and A. Schnittke. They are united by the use of the musical motif B-A-C-H, which is a sequence of sounds B-flat, A, C and B, which form Bach’s surname. As is known, this musical monogram, which is an example of a cross motif, was actively used in rhetorical science and musical art of the Baroque era. The concert will feature the leading oboist soloist of the Honored Collective of the Russian Federation, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic named after D.D.Shostakovich, laureate of international competitions Artem Isaev (Russia) and leading soloists of Belarus, laureates of international competitions – Ekaterina Pukst, Maria Pishchik, Samara Hassun.
