On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the String Orchestra of the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus named after M.Ya.Finberg will present a new concert program “Music of Memory”. The program is based on rarely performed compositions by Belarusian composers: People’s Artists of the USSR E.Glebov and I.Luchenok, People’s Artists of Belarus Н.Wagner and V.Olovnikov, Honored Artists of Belarus E.Kazachkov, V.Dorokhin, P.Podkovyrov and V.Voitik, dedicated to the theme of the Khatyn memorial, which was opened in 1969 in memory of all the Belarusians who died on the site of the burnt village. It became a world symbol of the countless victims, suffering and courage of the Belarusian people in the Great Patriotic War. The audience will also hear Symphony No.2 by the French composer A. Honegger, which is rarely performed in Belarus, which was created during the Nazi occupation of France and was called the “Symphony of Resistance”. The concert program “Music of Memory” is a tribute to the memory of all those who died during the Great Patriotic War.
