A highlight of the evening will be the premiere of the choral cycle “Night Pilgrim” by Belarusian composer Galina Gorelova.

Anna Pavlovna Zelenkova (16.01.1923–15.02.2010) is, without exaggeration, a legend of the choral conducting department of the Belarusian State Conservatory. In 1949, the graduate of the Leningrad Conservatory came to the war-ravaged Minsk at the invitation of Anatoly Vasilyevich Bogatyrev – composer and rector of the Belarusian State Conservatory, where she worked for 55 years.
At the same time, from 1950 to 1963, Anna Pavlovna combined teaching work with the post of artistic director of the Belarusian Radio Choir. The collective for the first time performed many compositions of Belarusian composers of that period, which have become national classics.
Anna Pavlovna was distinguished by her brilliant musical erudition, phenomenal capacity for work, artistry, charisma, incredible honesty and absence of double standards.
She considered her main task as a teacher to be education of a musician – a bright, distinctive, constantly improving creative personality. During half a century of teaching Anna Pavlovna Zelenkova trained more than 250 graduates, among them are the teachers of the higher and secondary educational establishments, the leaders of the professional and amateur collectives, the well-known figures of the modern musical Belarus: People’s Artist of Belarus, chief choirmaster of the Belarusian Opera and Ballet Theatre Alexei Kogadeev (1926–1997); People’s Artist of Belarus, artistic director and chief conductor of the National Academic Folk Choir named after G.I.Tsitovich Mikhail Drinevsky (1941–2020); Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Grodno Chamber Choir Larisa Ikonnikova; Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, artistic director of the State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Mikhailova.
The concert will feature photo and video materials from the family archive of Anna Pavlovna Zelenkova.
