On October 16, 2021, the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society invites you to plunge into the atmosphere of the incomprehensible and attractive culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. Long-term devotees discovering the world of traditional Japanese theatrical art – the choreographic ensemble “Manjushaka”– will present a new program on the stage of the Big Concert Hall.
The ensemble “Mandzyusyaka” was organized in 1995 and since then has performed many times in Belarus. In its musical and theatrical performances, the ensemble “Manjushaka” relies on the traditions of the Japanese Kabuki theater (a synthesis of singing, music, dance and drama), as well as the theater “No”, in which drama is embodied using the richest palette of artistic means: music – rhythm – noise – rustle, dance – pantomime – gesture – movement – posture – pause, special technique of singing – recitation – reading – shouting.
The artist director Fujinaka Kiyoe (stage name Mama Rosa) has been actively promoting friendship and cultural exchange between Belarus and Japan for many years. The last time, when the ensemble “Mandzyusyaka” toured on the stage of the Minsk Philharmonic, is five years ago.
