NONOSTANTE LA GRAVITÀ
For the first time in Belarus there appeared an organ duo!
Young organists of the State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Belarus Yury Gabrus and Varvara Tsariuk will perform original compositions for organ and transcriptions of famous symphonic compositions in duets.
Yury Gabrus studied at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) at the department of sacred music and organ, where he studied at the class of a famous organist, performer on authentic key instruments and researcher Dr. J.Speerstra (majoring in organ) and classes of Dr. K.Nelson and Dr. J.Landgren (liturgic organ and improvisation). In 2011 Yury went on an internship to University of the Arts Bremen (Germany), where he studied at the classes of a Professor Dr. H.Davidsson (organ), Dr. R.Kelber (organ) and C.Grohmann (improvisation). In 2003-2006 Yury worked as an assistant-organist at the Church of Holy Trinity (Minsk). Since 2003 he has been a titular organist at the New Apostolic Church in Minsk. Yury many times took part in organ competitions of the Göteborg International Organ Academy, master-classes of such famous performers as T. Koopman (the Netherlands), H.U.Ericsson (Sweden-Canada), A. Bundeman (Sweden), H. Vogel (Germany), J. van Oortmerssen (the Netherlands), L. Lohmann (Germany), E.M. Belotti (Italy - the USA). He is a constant member of the ensemble “Minsk chamber soloists” under the direction of a conductor and harpsichordist Dmitry Zubov.
Varvara Tsariuk graduated from Belarusian State Academy of Music (organ – class of an associate professor, candidate of art V.V. Nevdakh; music history – class of an associate professor, candidate of art R.N. Aladova). She was a member of the Academy of Early Music in Austria (Graz), the II Organ Assembly in Latvia (Riga), the International Organ Academy in Germany (Lübeck), master-classes of A. Gast (Germany), F. Danksagmüller (Germany), Ch. Schmidt (Germany), J. Trummer (Austria), M. Stefansky (Poland), A. Gorin (Israel), E. Lisitsyna (Latvia).
