Evening in memory of the soloist of the ensemble “Pesnyary” Vladimir Mulyavin, Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Leonid Bortkevich
“I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN THAT SONG...”
Leonid Bortkevich’s voice was the hallmark of the ensemble “Pesnyary”. Devoted fans of the ensemble believe that L. Bortkevich was among the top ten rock vocalists in the world, and Vladimir Mulyavin compared him to the great opera tenor Sergei Lemeshev, saying: “Leonid Bortkevich is Lemeshev, only on the stage.” And this is all the more surprising because the artist himself was not a professional vocalist. Its beginning is the amateur in VIA “Golden Apples", from where he got into the “Pesnyary” at the personal invitation of Vladimir Mulyavin. For a decade – from 1970 to 1980 – Leonid Bortkevich sang the most famous, truly iconic songs in Pesnyary, among which are “Alexandryna”, “Alesya”, “Veranika”, “Birch Sap”, “My native angle”, “Belarus” and many others.
Leonid Bortkevich’s life path was interrupted in Minsk on April 13, 2021. The concert “I have not forgotten that song” is dedicated to the memory of the artist, named after the line of the most famous hit performed by Leonid Bortkevich – “Alexandryna”. The concert is conducted by the legendary orchestra, in whose work the music of the “Pesnyary” finds its bright continuation – the National Academic Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus named after I.I.Zhinovich. The veteran of the ensemble “Pesnyary», Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Vladislav Misevich, as well as vocalists who have collaborated with Leonid Bortkevich in joint projects over the years: Yan Zhenchak, Vadim Kosenko, Vyacheslav Isachenko, Mikhail Dolotov (Moscow) and many other artists will sing in the memorial evening, accompanied by an orchestra.
