The Belarusian State Academy of Music and the Belarusian State Philharmonic are proud to announce a joint concert in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Folk Instruments and the 70th anniversary of the student orchestra of Russian folk instruments of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, as well as the 75th anniversary of the outstanding domra performer, composer, People’s Artist of Russian Federation Alexander Tsygankov. Alexander Andreevich is active in creative and pedagogical activities, being a professor at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and a member of the Moscow Composers Union. The musician gave about 1,500 solo concerts in all regions of the Russian Federation, republics of the former Soviet Union and foreign countries. There is not a single large city in Russia where A. Tsygankov’s domra would not sound. He has recorded several CDs in Russia, Holland, Japan, and the USA.
The concert program will be performed by students and graduates of the Faculty of Folk Instruments of the Belarusian State Academy of Music. The solo parts will be performed by laureates of international competitions: students, teachers of the Academy of Music and students of A.Tsygankov. The concert will feature both classical works and modern compositions, demonstrating the diversity and uniqueness of the performing repertoire of the folk instrument orchestra. The main guest of the evening will be People’s Artist of Russian Federation Alexander Tsygankov, who, together with an orchestra of Russian folk instruments, will perform works of his own composition. Spectators will be able to enjoy virtuosic performances and experience the unique atmosphere of the musical world of Alexander Tsygankov.
