The State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus opens a new season with the most interesting concert program dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Belarusian State Philharmonic: world premieres, favorite classics will be performed on the stage of the Big Hall on September 20.

At the beginning of last season on the initiative of artistic director and chief conductor of orchestra Evgeny Bushkov the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society introduced a new for the Belarusian musical life form of creative interaction between the concert staff and the contemporary composer – composer-in-recidence. The main point of this form is invitation of author for continuous cooperation with a view to create music for specific performers and specific event. At the end of 2016 the young Belarusian composer Konstantin Yas'kov became such invited author. As a result of this cooperation with orchestra two large scores have appeared: symphony in B-flat major from the Zabel collection of anonymous author of the 18th-19th century recomposed by K. Yas'kov and also specially created mystery «Crosny Makoshy (Canvas of destiny) » for folk voice, strings, drums and pianoforte. These premiere works and the world-famous Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48 have made the concert program of the State Chamber Orchestra concert.

"Zabel Symphony" is a unique archival manuscript found by S. Nemogai and A. Frolov in the archives in Vilnius and brought to Belarus. It’s the most extant monument in "Zabel collection" opened by these musicologists – a musical collection of the Belarusian musical culture of the era of classicism and early romanticism. According to Frolov's research, initially the symphony was created

and was performed in Polotsk, in the monastery and collegium of the Dominicans in Zabel (today village Volyntsi, Verhnedvinsky district), where the Symphony orchestra of the early classical type existed in the late 18th - early 19th centuries.

The name of the concert program «Crosny Makoshy (Canvas of destiny) » is articulated in connection with the new composition of K. Yas'kov and has symbolic meaning. Makosha is the goddess of ancient Slavs, the patroness of women and weaving who weaves canvases of destiny. The concert program of the State Chamber Orchestra is dovetailing of deep layers of national song folklore and achievements of world academic musical culture; it’s the connection of different epochs - archaic antiquity, classicism, romanticism, modernity. However, there is a tape linking all this into unity - music as a language of universal, eternal intonations that can convey panhuman feelings, emotions, images and meanings that are beyond the boundaries of words and time.
