Centuries pass, generations change, but Johann appears before us ever more grandiose and majestic Sebastian Bach. His work is a boundless and profound sea of music. It is like a single fugue. In honor of the world and Man.
On April 8, 2025, in the Great Concert Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic, the outstanding organist, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, professor of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music Alexander Fiseisky will present one of the most grandiose works ever created for the organ – the Organ Mass by Johann Sebastian Bach.
This cyclic composition, which is the Third Part of the “Klavier Exercises” and contains arrangements of choral chants of the Protestant service, was created during the composer's creative heyday and became the first organ work published during the author's lifetime.
Alexander Fiseisky, who studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Vera Gornostaeva (piano) and Leonid Roizman (organ), is a continuer of the great traditions of the Russian performing school. He is known as a performer, teacher, organizer, and researcher. He played the best organs in the world – in Notre Dame Cathedral, Cologne Cathedral, Westminster Abbey in London, and St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. Significant events in his biography are associated with the name of Bach. Alexander Fiseisky is the only musician in the world who regularly performs a cycle of 15 concert programs covering the entire organ legacy of the famous Baroque composer. Do not miss the opportunity to hear one of the most monumental organ cycles of the great German genius performed live, striking in its variety of images and scales, as well as the exquisite technique of compositional writing!
